Warsaw’s Multimedia Fountain Park has kicked off the summer season with a new show featuring music by French electronic music legend Jean-Michel Jarre.

Sitting between Warsaw’s Old Town and the Vistula River, the cutting-edge Multimedia Fountain Park has in recent years become one of the biggest and most recognizable attractions in town. Ranking among the best venues of its kind in Europe, the multimedia fountains draw a million viewers every summer. Some of them come from abroad specifically to see the park’s light-sound-and-water extravaganza. Introducing a brand-new show every summer, the park dazzles audiences with breathtaking colors, sky-high water jets, pyrotechnics and CGI effects projected onto a huge water screen.

This summer’s show was inspired by the legend of the Warsaw mermaid. Listening to newly written music by Jean-Michel Jarre, viewers are treated to animated sequences by Paweł Piotr Przybył in a story of contemporary Warsaw and its residents. Some of the young Varsovian women in the story turn out to be mermaids in disguise, living the city life to the fullest.

Shows at the Multimedia Fountain Park take place every Friday and Saturday night at 9:30 p.m. until the end of August and at 9 p.m. in September.
