Polish banking union ZPB, insurers' lobby PIU, IDM brokerage association as well as IZFiA fund managers' union appealed to Poland's Finance Ministry to introduce legislative changes in terms of personal data protection, which would allow financial institutions to adjust to new obligations resulting from the Polish-American agreement related to the US FACTA Act.

The Polish-US agreement is to take effect on July 1 and, according to current legislation, the financial institutions would have to secure the consent of each individual client in order to process their data under the new regime, the daily Rzeczpospolita writes.
