„Ragazzo dell’Europa” returns to TR Warszawa
June 10, 2014
„Ragazzo dell’Europa” a play written and directed by René Pollesch, one of the leading, one of the leading creators of the European avant-garde theater returns to the stage of TR Warszawa on June 12-14.
„Ragazzo dell’Europa” is a perverse commentary to the reality that is increasingly losing its substance. This performance gets a new dimension in juxtaposition with another play at TR Warszawa – The Second Woman (perfomed on June 20-22). Both plays are autothematic, but conducted in a completely different way, deliberations about theater, referring to the same source of inspiration - „Opening Night”, a movie by John Cassavetes.
Pollesch is considered to be one of the best post-drama theater directors. He has given up on the conventional theater where actors create their parts by revealing all shades of their psychological motivations. His performances are straightforward political manifestos where the director, who’s also the author of the scripts, precisely analyzes socio-political and economic mechanisms which determine the condition of contemporary people.
