Poland will find extra PLN 800m in military expenditure in 2015
June 10, 2014
The Polish government should be able to find PLN 800 million extra spending on national defense in next year's budget by reshuffling other expenses or, alternatively, by introducing a new tax, Finance Minister Mateusz Szczurek told RMF FM radio.
"I believe we will find the money," Szczurek said of PLN 800 milllion extra spending on armed forces in 2015, pointing to the possibility of "moving other expenses."
Alternatively, Poland could introduce a new tax, the minister said.
Poland intends to raise its military expenditure to 2% of GDP from the current level of 1.95%, President Bronislaw Komorowski said last week.
