Poland's online ad market expected to grow by 10pct in 2014 - Grupa Onet
June 12, 2014
Poland's online advertising market is expected to expand by around 10% this year, with the strongest growth posted by video and mobile sub-segments, Poland's largest web portal Grupa Onet CEO Robert Bednarski said.
"I think that advertising on the internet as a whole will gain around 10% in 2014," Bednarski told PAP Polish news agency, pointing to general expectations of a rebound on the ad market this year versus 2013.
Ad market recovery should translate into better financial results of Onet, the CEO said.
"Expectations as to the ad market warming in 2014 are clear," he said.
Bednarski pointed to bright prospects ahead of video advertising.
"Undoubtedly the fastest growth will be sported by video advertising, which is developing at the pace of 20-30%," he said. "As this segment is at the beginning of its development path, such growth rates can be expected also in the next couple of years."
"Mobile advertising will grow at a similar or even faster pace," he added."The market offers a broad array of tools which can be used to reach users. Coverage of mobile services and applications have been growing dynamically in the past years. All this means that a high growth rate of this segment should hold the longest."
