Chopin, Beethoven and young talent
June 17, 2014
The Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, composed of talented graduates from Polish music schools, is organizing a new music festival in Warsaw called Viva! Canaletto.
The opening day of the festival, June 18, will feature the Warsaw Philharmonic performing Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 under the baton of Tadeusz Wojciechowski.
Among the festival attractions will be a “Let’s Dance Chopin” concert at Castle Square June 19, featuring what is being billed as a jazz-and-symphonic paraphrasing of the great Polish composer.
On June 21, in the courtyard of Ujazdowski Castle, the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra will perform chamber music with unusual instrumental combinations.
The festival finale will take place at the National Theater June 22 with an Opera Gala featuring world-class soloists.
Admittance to all festival concerts is free.
