Polish gas supplies unaffected by Ukrainian gas pipeline explosion

Poland's natural gas supplies are unaffected by the explosion of the Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgorod gas pipeline in Ukraine, Poland's gas infrastructure operator Gaz-System said in a statement.
"Gaz-System is receiving gas to the Polish transmission system at the Drozdowicze entry point on the Polish-Ukrainian border in volumes ordered by clients," the statement reads.
Gaz-System remains in touch with the Ukrainian gas infrastructure operator Ukrtransgaz and is monitoring supplies on a current basis, the firm also said.
The explosion took place in the Poltava province in central-eastern Ukraine on Tuesday. According to preliminary findings, the blast was caused by a crack in the pipe.
