An award-winning show entitled “Once” performed by legendary German-Russian theatrical group Derevo will be presented June 20 and 21 as part of the 14th International Mime Art Festival held in Warsaw.
Derevo is a group with Russian roots and was established in St Petersburg. It is now based in Dresden and travels all over the world with its shows that combine pantomime, contemporary dance, clown theater, comedia dell’arte as well as butoh dance and physical theater.
“Once” has won many prestigious awards at various international festivals including Total Theatre Award, Fringe First and The Herald Angel at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Golden Mask in Moscow, and “BITEF” Grand Prix in Belgrade.
Derevo had taken part in Warsaw Mime Art Festival before, showing such performances as "Islands in the Stream", "Reflection" and „Harleqin”.
“Once” is a fairytale dedicated to the eternal child living in us all.
Once, two people fell in love. But as they felt cramped in this world, they decided to fly away on a pocket comet to search for the "City of Sweethearts".
