The 22nd International Street Art Festival in Warsaw will be held June 28 - July 6 this year, featuring comedies, mime performances, shows by traveling theaters and workshops.

Audiences will be treated to a colorful extravaganza of shows in the streets, squares and parks of the capital.

Held for the first time in 1993, the Street Art Festival has evolved to become a popular international event drawing hundreds of performers from Poland and abroad, and ever more viewers. While focusing on theater, dance and circus, the festival also showcases a variety of other performance arts.

As in previous years, the festival will be held mainly in Warsaw’s New Town Square and Agrykola Park. This year’s performers are from Poland, Belgium, Ukraine and the Czech Republic and include guests from previous festivals, among them Belgium’s Cirq’ulation Locale company. The Squadra SUA theater from the Czech Republic is coming to Warsaw for the first time.

Apart from theatrical performances, the festival will include workshops and an avant-garde fashion show entitled Cocoons by Ernest Zawada, which will feature unique clothes made by students of the Katowice School of Technology.
