Poland was the third but last country in terms of timely payment of invoices by entrepreneurs in 2013 in the ranking of 15 European countries prepared by business intelligence firm Bisnode.

As many as 69.5% of invoices in Poland were paid with a delay last year, the survey showed. Worse results were only reported in Great Britain and Portugal.

Poland and Portugal are two countries with the biggest number of payments settled with an over 90-day delay, while 8.7% of Polish invoices are overdue by more than 121 days. The main reason for delays mentioned by companies is unreliability of business partners, creating a vicious circle of payment postponements.
