PGE inks PLN 3.25bn contract with Hitachi/Budimex for power block
July 11, 2014
Article's tools:

Power utility PGE signed PLN 3.25 billion contract with a consortium of Hitachi, Budimex and Tecnicas Reunidas for construction of a 450 MWe power block in Turow, southwestern Poland, PGE said in a market filing.

PGE had picked the PLN 3.25 billion Hitachi/Budimex/Tecnicas Reunidas bid in a tender in March 2014. The consortium was chosen over Chinese engineering group Shanghai Electric, which had reportedly offered PLN 3.09 billion. The Chinese firm appealed the decision, along with Korean Doosan, the highest bidder, but the appeals were turned down.

The tender for the construction of a 430-450 MW power block was announced in June 2013, after cancellation of the initial procedure due to bids significantly exceeding the budget.
