Party financing under scrutiny

Poland's electoral commission (PKW) will study the legality of a resolution in the party structure of junior coalition partner Polish People’s Party (PSL) requiring anyone who secures a public administration job thanks to the party to pay 3% of their earnings to the party.
Party officials swear off any talk of forced payments. Lawyers say little can happen until someone blows a whistle for being fired for refusing payment.
The governing party Civic Platform (PO) has "recommendation" that members pay as much as 10%, but only those in elected positions.
MPs of opposition party Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) pay PLN 700 to 1,300 monthly. MPs of PSL pay PLN 400.
