Polish economy remains on growth course despite slowdown in select sectors in June, the Central Statistics Office (GUS) Vice-President Halina Dmochowska told a press conference on Wednesday.

"Partial data for Q2 show that the growth tendency has been maintained despite a weakening of growth rates in some of the areas in June," Dmochowska said.

The annual slowdown in Q2 vis-a-vis Q1 pertained to industrial and construction output, but Q2 retail sales growth "despite a slight weakening" remained faster than in the "subsequent quarters of last year," GUS said in its June report. Transport services sales accelerated slightly.
