Poland's movie theaters saw their business deteriorate year on year in Q2 as ticket sales fell by 4.2% to PLN 132.6 million by value and slipped by 2.1% to 7.3 million by volume, as the lack of blockbusters and the competition of the football world cup in Brazil took their toll on the figures, according to the data of Boxoffice.pl.

Analysts have adjusted their full-year forecasts accordingly and now predict 2014 to show a similar result to 2013 when some 36.5 million tickets were sold.
