Anatomy of angst
July 30, 2014
A new exhibition of paintings by three young female artists at Warsaw's Monopol gallery makes a link between the human anatomy and existential angst.
The exhibition is entitled WĪtpia, a word that means “entrails” in old Polish. It also close to the contemporary Polish term for “doubt.”
Organic forms that resemble human organs and cells in the paintings symbolically represent states of mind, emotions and the relations between man and the world.
The exhibition runs until Aug. 13 at the Monopol Gallery, 117 Jerozolimskie Ave. www.galeriamonopol.pl
