Poland seeks to relieve effects of Russian trade embargo
August 11, 2014
The Polish government expects the European Union to help export elsewhere the agricultural products that will not be sold to Russia due to Russian trade embargo, Agriculture Minister Marek Sawicki said.
The EU can afford to spend several billion euro to place the food production on other markets, which are often in the need of food supplies, Sawicki told the daily Puls Biznesu.
At the same time the government file a complaint to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) over the Russian ban on Polish exports of fruit and vegetables, Sawicki told Gazeta Wyborcza daily.
