Gide advises KGHM on financing facility granted by EIB
August 13, 2014
Gide’s Warsaw office provided legal advice to the world’s leading copper producer KGHM Polska Mied¼ on the signing of an agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB) for a 12-year unsecured loan of PLN 2 billion (USD 640 million).
Through this loan KGHM intends to finance the costs of modernizing smelter installations and the extension of the “¯elazny Most” waste incineration facility in south-western Poland. KGHM said that this is the next step towards consolidating financing for the KGHM Capital Group’s strategic investments.
This new legal assistance comes less than one month after Gide completed work on another large financing project for KGHM, namely an investment loan agreement worth USD 2.5 billion for general corporate purposes, signed with a consortium of Polish and international banks.
In both cases, Gide’s team comprised partners Dariusz Tokarczuk and Pawe³ Grze¶kowiak, and associate Marta Karmiñska.
