Polish exports to CEE fall 12.5pct in H1
August 13, 2014
Poland's suffered a 12.5% drop in exports to CEE in H1, deeper than the 4.2% decline in Q1 this year, and may see further decline by the end of 2014, analysts said after the publication of the Central Statistical Office (GUS).
In total, exports rose by 5.4% in January-June, slower than the 7% after May.
Apart from the crisis in Ukraine and Russia, economists blamed the slowdown on the disappointing economic developments in Western Europe in Q2.
Russia's embargo on Polish foods imports could take some 0.2 pps off annual GDP growth, Credit Agricole chief economist Jakub Borowski said.
