PKN Orlen to build new petchem installation

Fuel firm PKN Orlen signed a deal for a license and a base design for a metathesis installation for propylene production, with construction of the installation planned to start in 2016 and with production to be launched in late 2017, the company said in a press statement.
The technology will be provided by Lummus Technology Inc.
The installation is expected to produce 100,000 tons of polymer-grade propylene.
PKN plans to spend PLN 1.6 billion on investments in the petchem segment within the next four years.
