Poland to have new minister for taxes - PAP
August 25, 2014
Polish Finance Minister Mateusz Szczurek will appoint a new deputy responsible for taxes and tax policy, but the decision on the name is yet to be taken by Szczurek, two independent sources in the Finance Ministry told PAP Polish news agency.
"Finance Minister Mateusz Szczurek wants a new person who would deal with taxes; make a review of current taxes, quasi-taxes and tax breaks," a source in the Finance Ministry told PAP. "This person would take over responsibilities and oversight over departments from deputy Finance Minister Janusz Cichon, who will continue to oversee the newly created department of supporting economic policies."
The other source in the ministry confirmed the information.
"The appointment of a new deputy Finance Minister is a matter of days or weeks rather than months," the source said. "The decision on the concrete person needs to be taken by the minister."
