Some Polish drug wholesalers feel discriminated by producers
August 25, 2014
Polish pharmacy organization NIA has filed a complaint with Polish drug registration authority against four drug producers, including AstraZeneca and GlaxoSmithKline, claiming those producers distribute innovative drugs only through selected wholesalers.
In the case of some other drugs, wholesalers receive supplies, but insufficient for the demand, drug wholesalers' lobby said.
The pharmaceutical industry lobby IGFP said that the new distribution model, involving distribution only through selected wholesalers or even directly to pharmacies is necessary to prevent illegal exports of such drugs.
