Prime Minister Donald Tusk's ruling Civic Platform (PO) has narrowed the gap separating it from the opposition Law & Justice (PiS) party and is now trailing by five percentage points in the polls, according to a new survey.

PiS is backed by 31 percent of voters, down from 35 percent last month, while the PO is backed by 26 percent, up from 23 percent, according to the poll by TNS Polska.

The leftwing opposition Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) is on 12 percent and the Polish People's Party (PSL), the junior partner in the coalition government, on 7 percent, according to TNS Polska.
