Industrial output higher than expected

Polish industrial output grew 6.8% y-o-y in June, on a monthly gain of 8.8%. Meanwhile, producer prices (PPI) were up in June 0.1% y-o-y on a monthly increase of 0.3%.

Economists had forecast June output growth at 4.6%, with prognoses ranging from 1.1% to 9.0%. The monthly change was estimated at 6.8%.

Seasonally-adjusted industrial output, however, was up only 3.9% y-o-y in June, after a monthly gain of 2.5%.

Polish June producer prices rose 0.1% y-o-y in June versus a 0.5% decline in May, after a 0.3% increase m-o-m, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) informed Tuesday.
