PGB results show a new party would do well in elections
March 14, 2007
The PGB polling agency asked voters about how they would support a party led by former president Aleksander Kwasniewski and Civic Platform (PO) founder Andrzej Olechowski.
The results showed quite a bit about the dissatisfaction with the current state of politics in Poland. The theoretical party would receive 21% of the votes in a nationwide election.
Such a formation would be positioned third in the Parliament, following PO (24%) and PiS (23%).
Current coalition populist partners Samoobrona would be ranked fifth with 7% of the vote followed by LPR with 6%.
The media have recently speculated that former Foreign Minister Olechowski could defect from the PO and form a new centrist grouping with Kwasniewski.
The poll was conducted between March 3 and March 11 on 1,004 adults.
