Bialoszewski Secret Diary on Przodownik stage
March 29, 2017
A play based on Miron Bialoszewski’s “Secret Diary” (Tajny Dziennik) will premiere March 30 on the Przodownik Stage of Warsaw’s Dramatyczny Theater.
Bialoszewski, a prominent Polish poet, novelist, playwright liked to be among people. He liked to overhear what they say, liked to be in control of the situation.
His secret diary remains mysterious. Absorbing, mystic, spiteful, full of life and full of premonitions. It was published only several decades after his death as the level of Bialoszewski’s sincerity would be difficult to cope with by his friends and his customary openness would be unbearable for the censorship.
The play is directed by Wojciech Urbański, who adapted the diary for the stage together with Elżbieta Chowaniec.
