Civic Platform to build an economic policy platform
April 20, 2017
Opposition party PO will likely build an economic policy platform designed to spur growth necessary to fund the nation's social welfare programs, including perhaps a few new offers, the party's new chief economics guru Andrzej Rzonca admitted for the daily Gazeta Wyborcza. Recent social spending vows from party leader Grzegorz Schetyna, including a promise to add a so-called '13th-month pension', should not be treated as a complete vision of economic policy, the former MPC member insists. The current government will fail in its pro-growth plans by putting its focus on state-guided investments, he said. A PO government would have to revisit the question of retirement age.
