No sanctions for Poland recommended

Poland need not fear having to face heavy punishment from the EU in relation to the ongoing rule of law procedure, as a consensus on the matter amongst member states seems unlikely.
The European Commission has not recommended any sanctions to be imposed on Poland for breaching the rule of law so far.
The Commission’s Vice-President Frans Timmermans, who calls for dialogue, hopes that the newly-elected French president Emmanuel Macron will help pressure Poland to change its stance, setting an example for other member states, Rzeczpospolita reports citing unofficial sources.
