European Council President Donald Tusk has reportedly appealed to the European Commission to block Russia’s planned gas pipeline project Nord Stream 2, the daily Rzeczpospolita writes citing unofficial confirmation of the findings published by Financial Times.
The project could lead to suspension of gas transit via Ukraine, a country subject to Russian aggression, Tusk reportedly argues, also calling for observance of the EU’s third energy package.
Meanwhile, Poland has adopted a classified stance on the project at the Tuesday cabinet sitting, the daily Gazeta Wyborcza reports.
