Poland is considering buying two floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals following the example of Lithuania in order to diversify gas sources away from Russia, according to unofficial findings of Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily.
The polish government stands by its intention not to prolong the current long-term gas supply deal with Russia’s Gazprom beyond 2022.
Future gas supplies will come from the Norwegian Continental Shelf, Qatar, the US and the two floating terminals, making Gazprom one of many partners.
The first LNG shipment from the US is to arrive in the Swinoujscie terminal on Thursday.
