Poland may face another battle over tightening up the abortion law this autumn, as supporters of the former are gearing up for filing a new draft bill proposal in the parliament in August, Rzeczpospolita daily writes.
The new proposal by a pro-life foundation Zycie i Rodzina has gained the Polish Catholic Church's support, the daily found out.
The draft bill is not as strict and controversial as the one proposed by ultra conservative NGO Ordo Iuris last year, and thus the bishops welcomed it with satisfaction, a source told the daily.
If the bill gets required signatures of the public in a civic motion mode by November, the parliament will likely deal with the project at the start of 2018.
