Poland may face actual financial consequences for not taking in refugees within the EU relocation program no sooner than in four-five-year's time due to EU administrative procedures, Rzeczpospolita daily writes, citing estimates of Brussels-based experts.
On Tuesday the European Commission confirmed it was opening a case against Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic for not meeting the EU's refugee allocation program's quotas.
According to the program's assumptions, Poland was supposed to accept app. 6.100 people, the daily reminded.
The EU needs to be fair with the countries which meet the program's quotas, European commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos told a press conference. I genuinely believe the three countries will change their stance, he added.
