Tusk to form a new party?
July 11, 2017

European Council president Donald Tusk may be mulling involvement in a new political party in Poland as he no longer seems to have any hope in largest opposition party Civic Platform (PO), daily Rzeczpospolita speculates.
The new party would most likely be based on the social-liberal party Union of European Democrats, the newspaper writes of off-record comments made by politicians.
However, PO leader Grzegorz Schetyna is unlikely to back down and will focus even more on the 2018 local elections in order for his party to keep its key strongholds.
