Companies from fifteen industries including arms, automotive, telecom, broadcasting and pharmaceuticals are to be identified as strategic for the state security and required to assist the Polish armed forces both during war and in peace time, according to the newest draft of a national defense bill cited by the daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.
Enlisted companies are to report to the Defense Ministry about their financial condition and defense potential every half a year, the bill stipulates. They will also require the ministry's approval for various commercial activities.
Employers lobby Konfederacja Lewiatan and two ICT organizations have appealed for the removal of the controversial clauses.
