Special Economic Zone in Mielec
The Polish government is keeping 16 investment projects worth PLN 1.5 billion and creating 1280 jobs suspended due to lack of new regulations on special economic zones, the daily Puls Biznesu writes citing results of its own survey among 14 zone operators.
The old regulations expired on July 1. The Development Ministry is working on a whole new bill that will replace the system of permits and extensions with support decisions issued for 10, 12 or 15 years.
The law is supposed to come into effect only as of 2018, but most special economic zones are ready to wait in the light of numerous benefits expected.
The new law will shorten the process of entry to the zone to a few months, Malgorzata Poplawska of the Krakow Park of Technology said
