The Polish government is still debating a potential extra payout for pensioners with the lowest benefits to be disbursed annually before Christmas holidays, the daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna writes.
The Labor Ministry, which is preparing the project, has not received the go-ahead from the Finance Ministry so far, an unnamed government insider told the daily.
The issue may be treated as a bargaining chip by Finance and Development Minister Mateusz Morawiecki to get his way in the planned capital pension system changes, the daily speculates.
