Nearly a half of employers declared having problems with recruiting staff in the past months, a labor market barometer prepared by job agency Work Service showed.
For 68.1% of those afflicted, the staffing problem had direct impact on their business. Shortage of labor force has prevented 32.6% of the surveyed companies from signing new contracts and forced 12.8% of them to limit or abandon investment plans.
The deficit of workers is beginning to affect business activity and the problem is bound to become more visible in the entire economy, Work Service CEO Maciej Witucki commented. For now, the hardest hit are manufacturing and services sectors.
