President Andrzej Duda will likely cooperate more closely with local governments on a number of issues, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily writes, citing, i.a. a working team reviewing Poland's law on local government. Local governments see Duda as a natural ally in their conflicts with the central government, while the President is counting on local governments' involvement in the constitutional referendum he wants to organize.
The President might submit draft legislation aimed at stabilizing the finances of Polish cities which was prepared a few months ago by the Polish cities association ZMP, a ZMP representative told the daily of signals from the chancellery.
