Poland's anti-corruption police unit CBA will investigate the role of two former cabinet employees in the controversial ad campaign promoting judicial reform, dailies Rzeczpospolita and Gazeta Wyborcza write. The two own a firm which was hired by a state-sponsored foundation PFN to conduct parts of the campaign.
Meanwhile, some state-owned firms have questioned use of funds from PFN which they support financially to promote judicial reform. PFN chiefs Cezary Jurkiewicz and Maciej Swirski are being called upon to explain the participation in a domestic political campaign.
A representative for Poland's largest fuel firm PKN Orlen said his firm had been unaware of such plans and needs an explanation.
