The Polish government will present its newest proposal of a universal public media fee at the latest in October, the daily Gazeta Wyborcza writes.
The fee, estimated at ca. PLN 8 a month, is to be collected annually together with PIT, CIT and farmers' insurance KRUS.
To date, the fee has been imposed on households rather than individuals. Upon transition to the new system, debtors will be offered abolition, while honest payers will be entered into a lottery.
Pensioners will no longer be fully exempt, but the fee will be a symbolic PLN 1.
The new law might be passed yet this year for introduction as of 2018, to help the troubled state broadcaster TVP.
