The Polish government should not base its energy security exclusively on its own coal, but tap into diversification and renewables, the latest report by think tank Forum Energii says.
The report presents four scenarios for the Polish energy sector to 2050 in the light of increasing costs connected with the implementation of the EU's climate policy.
Diversifying fuels, with or without building a nuclear power plant, or expanding the renewable energy sources sector to 73% of Poland's total energy output bear lowest risks in terms of cost increases tied to the EU climate policy, the Forum Energii expert Andrzej Rubczynski says.
