Poland enjoyed an 11% year on year hike in number of births in July to 35,000, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna (DGP) reports citing latest data by stats office GUS.
The figure rose nearly 9% year on year in January-July to 235,000 and will exceed 400,000 at end-2017 if the trend is maintained in the remainder of the year, according to the newspaper.
The growth is fueled by improving economic situation, shrinking unemployment, rising wages, high number of women aged 29-34 and positive impact of the government's family support scheme 500+, GUS analysts believe.
Per-capita disposable income of Polish households rose by PLN 89 year on year to PLN 1,475 in 2016, with the figure settling at PLN 11,71 in the case of 500+ beneficiaries and wealth gap narrowing.
