Poland secured the 39th place in this year's edition of the World Economic Forum's state economies competitiveness ranking, a not-so-satisfying position that it owns to poor assessment of its institutional environment and the independence and efficiency of its judiciary system, as well as the low level of trust in the government.
Poland's scoring was markedly impacted by the first-time participation of micro companies in the WEF survey as the smallest companies tend to evaluate the economic landscape with a greater dose of pessimism than larger firms, the National Bank of Poland experts said commenting the ranking results.
