Beata Szydlo
The Polish government wants to increase competencies of the Prime Minister regarding the supervision over state companies, agenda of legislative works published on the PM's chancellery website shows.
" . . . the scope of PM's competencies was expanded (to all companies with state treasury holding)," the agenda shows.
As of January 2017 the government liquidated the Treasury Ministry. Under the current government's model for state firm supervision, state owned enterprise is supervised by individual ministers from related fields.
In April 2017 PM Beata Szydlo took direct supervision over the state-controlled and WSE-listed insurer PZU. As a financial institution, PZU had originally been allocated to Szydlo's deputy, Development and Finance Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
