Budget moves

The Polish government could choose to pad its 2018 budget by pushing some spending into the 2017 accounts, the daily Dziennik Gazeta Polska writes.
Poland is on track for a deficit near PLN 27 billion, but deputy PM Mateusz Morawiecki argues for a figure over PLN 30 billion.
Ministries might want to make up for limited spending in the first months of 2017, with the defense ministry viewed as a possible leader in department budget execution.
The finance ministry might also want to use the saved money to patch up long-overdue obligations, such as PLN 2.3 billion to be paid in allowances in lieu for free coal for mining pensioners.
