Unemployment rate still falling

Poland's unemployment rate might still decline a bit more to end-2017 albeit as a result of statistical factors rather than an actual reduction of the jobless ranks, the daily Gazeta Wyborcza writes citing the Bank Pocztowy's chief economist Monika Kurtek calculations.
As every fifth unemployed person is over 55, some of them will soon disappear from the jobless statistics due to the lowering of the retirement age, Kurtek points out.
Other than that, chances for further declines in unemployment are minuscule as Poland's registered jobless are largely unqualified and unemployable.
