Bodnar on public transparency bill

Poland's ombudsman Adam Bodnar raised a range of doubts regarding the public transparency bill, he said in the opinion to the draft.
The bill raises concerns of lowering the standard of civil rights protection and suffers from "serious legislative faults."
Among others, the bill assumes that up to 1.5 million persons will be placed under the obligation to disclose assets owned, far more than some 0.5 million at the moment, the daily Gazeta Wyborcza notes.
Moreover, central anti-corruption bureau CBA will be able to demand asset disclosure from any person in a public position, the ombudsman complains
