EC against Polish judicial reform

Brussels is "very close" to referring Poland's act on the common courts to the European Court of Justice, the daily Gazeta Wyborcza found out.
The EC is currently analyzing Polish government's reply to EC's objections to the regulations, the EC deputy President Frans Timmermans said.
The EC will have to trigger the first stage of the Article 7 procedure against Poland if none of its recommendations concerning the judiciary reform are implemented, he added.
Securing the 22 vote majority in the European Council, required to trigger the procedure, is "very probable," Western diplomats tell the daily.
