Polish registered unemployment's further decline observed in October to 6.6% should be attributed to the lowering of the retirement age, the chief economist of Bank Pocztowy Monika Kurtek says commenting on the ministry of labor's latest estimates.
Societe Generale counterpart Jaroslaw Janecki concurs. At end-year, Poland's unemployment rate might arrive at the 6.4-6.5% level as more of the country's current jobless will become entitled to earlier retirement, according to Janecki.
The demand for labor is still high in the light of the latest PMI research, a trend that supports the decline in unemployment, the Bank Millennium economist Grzegorz Maliszewski adds.
