Opposition worried

The changes to the local election code proposed by the ruling party Law and Justice (PiS), assuming changes to constituencies size, would significantly undermine election chances of representatives of smaller political groupings if the number of representatives elected in a constituency is reduced, political scientists comment.
Opposition parties are worried that limiting the number of representatives elected in a constituency to three would only leave room for ruling party PiS and main opposition party PO. Still, political scientists note that results of election in constituencies offering as few as 3 seats are extremely unpredictable.
