Poland’s central bank forecasts on wage growth might turn out too low as they are based on the assumption that professional activity among people over 45 years old will be rising and the number of such people is limited, Societe Generale chief economist Jaroslaw Janecki commented on the latest inflation projection report.
Moreover, NBP expects that in the light of growing wages, employers will rather limit production than hike prices, while I expect that the risk that companies will transfer rising costs to clients is growing, he added. Also Puls Bank chief economist Wiktor Wojciechowski believes that wage growth will rather accelerate, given labor shortages which will become more and more acute as investments accelerate.
